foiled flowers

Welcome to my crafty blog and a bit of a milestone – it’s my 600th post today since I started this little blogging journey just over two years ago! Thanks for sticking with me! It seemed appropriate to share a new technique with you to celebrate – I’ve succumbed and joined the world of foiling! Julie Hickey has released some beautiful new foilable die cuts and the tempataion was just too great, so here’s my first creation with them. I was inspired by a couple of challenges today – the layout is from Global Design Project with the colours from TGIF

I started with four narrow strips of white card and ran the brush end of a ‘soft succulent’ WRite marker across them. I then attached them to an A6 card blank – I thought they had the effect of wood with the lines down them.

I foiled a bunch of flowers and a couple fo small ones, using my new laminator and WOW ‘fab foils’ in silver, then coloured them with SU Write markers in ‘soft succulent’, ‘pale papaya’ and ‘fresh freesia’. I attached them to the card front with foam pads.

I finished by foiling one of the sentiments from the pack and added that above the flowers. A few Glossies gave it the final touch.

Here’s another angle to show you the glorious foil effect on these – I think I might be about to get addicted! See you tomrrow for post number 601!
