Welcome to my crafty blog and my weekly dip back into Claritystamp’s Craft Club – this week it’s the ‘gemstone flowers’ stamp from June 2020.

I don’t think it’s the easiest stamp to use and decided to just go with some of the flowers for this card. I have used the whole stamp previously – you can check out my design here: 12 Days of Clarity – day 6 June ‘gemstone flowers’ stamp
I started by masking off a vertical panel on a 6×6 card blank and blended ‘dried marigold’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ Distress Oxides down it. I then stamped different sections of the flowers onto the panel using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, and highlighted the flowers with the ‘ripe persimmon’ and a waterbrush.

I die cut a tag using one of the Clarity nested dies and again blended the ‘dried marigold’ & ripe persimmon’ onto it before stamping the flowers around the edge.

I wanted a contrast to the panel on the card, so used my waterbrush to paint a little bleach onto the flowers, which lifted all the colour out of the ink. I also added a few splatters across the tag.

I stamped one of the ‘petite sentiments’ across the centre of the tag and edged it with a dark brown Sharpie, then popped some white raffia through the hole and attached it to the card front on foam pads.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend – it’s been a beautiful day here. I’m going to share this card with CAS Colours and Sketches as I took their colour palette for the design, together with Less is More who’ve challenged us to ‘use a tag’.

That ink blending is so pretty Deborah and the bleached flowers a genius touch! Love the cute tag detail too. Thanks for sharing with us over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!

Love it! Love the bleach technique and it worked so well with the oxide inks. The blending of those 2 colors together is absolutely gorgeous as well. Well done. Thanks so much for joining us at CC&S
