London on the edge

Welcome to my crafty blog, and a very CAS birthday card using one of Claritystamp’s ‘city skylines’ masks – can you guess which one?! I took the inspiration for this from AAA Cards‘ current theme of ‘along the edge + your country’. The London skyline is a pretty iconic image for the UK.

I started with a piece of white card, cut to fit a 5×7 card blank, and lined the upper part of the mask along it, adding in the extra pieces for the clockface on Big Ben, the centre of the London Eye and the sections of Tower Bridge. I then sponged black Archival ink downwards onto the mask, leaving the image lighter at the base.

I blended ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide across the image with a brush to fill in the sky. Because I’d left it lighter at the base, the colour was picked up there as well.

I attached it to the card blank and added a black word sticker to finish.

Thanks for dropping in. See you tomorrow with another creation.
