a windmill for you

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another post with a card that is virtually all die-cutting (I don’t know what’s got into me!) I’d been pondering on the sketch over at TGIF challenges and then realised it would work with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘windmill’ and ‘tulips’ dies, especially in the pretty spring colours from The Paper Players

I started by attaching a piece of dsp from the ‘sunshine and rainbows’ pack to a 6×6 card blank, then die cut two strips of the tulips in yellow & pink card. I glued them to sit across the card front.

I die cut the windmill with a black base and white upper & sails, glued it together (attaching the sails with a brad) and then popped it on the card front with foam pads.

I finished by stamping one of the sentiments from the ‘sweet strawberry’ set (probably about time I used that one again!), cut it out with a ‘tasteful labels’ die and added that to the card on a foam pad.

I really do like these dies. I would never have bought the set had it not been for an online class with Joanne James, but I’m very happy I did now.

  1. It’s amazing how well your images work in the sketch, and so beautifully with our colors at The Paper Players. I’m in love with this sweet and pretty scene! The DP you chose is perfection, adding just the right of texture to set off the graphic details of the windmill. A great design!

  2. This is just beautiful Deborah! I love the neutral windmill and pretty rows of tulips and the background paper is just the perfect cloudy sky. So glad you trusted me that this was a set with so many possibilities, for both a class and beyond. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
