Claritystamp craft club lookback – abstract texture

Welcome to my crafty blog and my weekly dip back into Claritystamp’s craft club. Today I’ve used the ‘abstract texture’ stamp from January 2020 for the landscape on this card.

I started with a 5×7 card blank and laid the ‘hills’ mask across it, before repeat stamping the ‘abstract texture’ across the bottom of the card in ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide. I then used Clarity’s ‘clouds’ mask to add the sky with a brush and ‘salvaged patina’.

I then stamped ‘Tina’s floral spray’ onto a spare piece of white card; I used my stamping platform to first stamp the stems & leaves in ‘mowed lawn’ (I wiped the ink off the flower heads before stamping), and then sponged ‘wilted violet’ onto the petals and re-stamped it. I coloured the image with the same inks using a Pergamano blending nib, and then blended more of the clouds into the background. I then cut the image out with a circle nested die and added it to the card front on foam pads.

I finished by stamping the sentiment (one of the ‘Barbara’s handwriting’ set) directly onto the card front in the sky.

I’ve combined three challenges in this card. I used the sketch from Inspire.Create (although I flipped it onto it’s side) and the colours from TGIF challenges (I went with the nearest shades I’ve got to the Stampin’ Up! colours listed). Finally, I’ve picked up the right hand column from TicTacToe‘s grid – flowers, colouring & green.
