Hello crafty friends. I’ve been playing with my Julie Hickey Designs ‘dinky dies’ again this evening, having been inspired by a great class this afternoon with Marion Emberson of Sugar & Spice Crafts. It was so good to see everyone in group again. Today’s card picks up a couple fo current challenges: the colours from Color Throwdown and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches

I started with a piece of sage green card that I cut to fit an A6 card blank. I added a strip of heat resistant tape and heat embossed it with WOW’s ‘ice cream’ powder. Another strip of purple card went next to it, followed by the scalloped rectangle die cut.

I then die cut the little flowers from the hexagonal dies set, two in purple and one from a piece of white card that I’d embossed with the ‘ice cream’ powder. The flowers are actually a two part die, so I glued the outer frame into place and then just attached the petals in the centre, which meant I could lift them slightly to give more dimension.

I finished with one of the sentiments from Julie’s ‘just a note’ set, stamped in ‘bundled sage’ Distress Oxide onto a die cut banner, and added a few Glossies as a final touch.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope your weekend is going well – I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.
This is really pretty!
