birthday dangles

Hello there. I deiceded to ahve another play wiht Claritystamp’s ‘birthday dangles’ set, this time using it on one of my inky backgrounds, thanks to the inspo list from Festive Friday for World Party Day (no, I didn’t know either!) I’ve picked up balloons, celebratory statement and hat from the list, together with the colours from Color Hues and the ‘hat’ theme from CASology

Amazingly, I had an inky background in my stash that had the right colours for the Color Hues challenge! I’m even more happy, becasue I didn’t create another mop-up piece while doing this one. I cut the background down to fit a 5×7 card blank, and stamped the main ‘birthday’ stamp across the centre using black Archival ink.

I added several of the small elements in the set – the party hats above the ‘B’ and the three ‘dangles’ from the letters – then coloured the word and elements using light teal and yellow Pergamano pencils.

I just ran a black Sharpie around the edge of the card and then attached it to the card blank.

The inky background gives a very different effect to the last card I made using this set, but on reflection I think I should probably have stamped it the other way up, with the yellow at the bottom. Hey ho – too late now!

  1. This is such a fun stamp Deborah – so many fun details! I like the background that way up – it makes the added blue to the lettering stand out better. Either way, a great birthday day card and glad you are playing with us over at Festive Friday this week!
