Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses a Claritystamp set that I’ve not had out for ages – the ‘make a wish’ three way overlay stamps. I thought of these when I saw the challenge of ‘simple stamping’ over at TGIF – apart from the backing of designer card, there is only stamping on this one. The two hares also fit beautifully with Inkspirational‘s theme of ‘critters that hop’ (although I think this pair are a bit too busy getting cosy for doing much hopping!!)

The three-way overlay stamps are great for creating little picture scenes. I started by stamping the first outline image onto white card using black Archival ink.

I then inked up the second infill stamp with ‘weathered wood’ Distress Oxide (it helps to use a sponge to distribute the ink evenly on the stamp) and added it to the scene. I use my stamping platform for this, as I can line the stamp up on the first outline image before inking it – I can never manage to get it right on target if I do it freehand!

I then lined up the third stamp for the background and started by inking the grassy area withe ‘mowed lawn’. Once I’d stamped that in, I added ‘broken china’ to the sky area – again, using a sponge meant that I could leave the part nearer the horizon white, which lightened the whole scene. I cleaned the blue ink off the little star before stamping it down, then added a little ‘squeezed lemonade’ to it with a blending nib and stamped that in place.

I trimmed the card down to a square, mounted it on a piece of Clarity’s ‘Antarctica’ designer card and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

It really didn’t need anything else. I think I’m going to have to get some more of the three-way stamps back out of their folders and play some more!
So pretty!
