Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve been playing today with the latest stencil from Claritystamp’s monthly Craft Club – this lovely wave of butterflies. I’ve used the colours from Color Thowdown and the embossing theme from Just Us Girls. I’m also going to share it as a second card for Inkspirational‘s ‘curve’ challenge.

I started with a square of white card with the stencil attached, and used it as an embossing folder by running it through my Gemini machine with a rubber shim. It gvies a great rasied effect for the image.

I put the stencil back in place and brushed Distress Oxides through it in ‘mowed lawn, ‘kitsch flamingo’ and ‘weathered wood’. I realised it had moved slightly while I was blending the inks, but that actually gives the butterflies a slight white highlight. I blended the three colours around the edge of the card as well, to follow the shading on the butterflies, then edged it with a back Sharpie and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

All it needed to then finish it off was a suitable word sticker, and a few pink Glossies.

Thanks for dropping in. I wasn’t sure about this stencil when I first opened the packet, but it’s definitely grown on me now I’ve used it. Now to think of more projects for it…
Love this!

The way you coloured the embossed image is quite skilful and the effect is gorgeous.
Thanks for joining in at Inkspirational Challenges.
