Claritystamp craft club lookback – cupcake #142

Welcome to my crafty blog and my regular Sunday dip back into Claritystamp’s craft club. By coincidence, it’s another cupcake (after the card I made earlier this week) and this time I’ve gone for chocolate and cherry flavour (one of my favourite combinations!) thanks to the colour palette at CAS Colours and Sketches. I’ve paired it with the layout from Just Add Ink

Having decided on a chocolate & cherry cupcake, I was trying to work out how best to incorporate the green – somehow I didn’t think a green topping would do it! I went for one of Clarity’s square ‘frame it’ dies, which I cut in SU’s ‘evening evergreen’ card and then attached to a 5×5 card blank.

I then stamped the cupcake in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, and coloured the wrapper using ‘espresso’ ink and a waterbrush. I used the same technique for the cherry, with ‘fine wine’ Artistry ink. I wanted to give the icing some depth, so used a brown Pergaliner pencil to shade around the inked lines. I then fussy cut the cupcake and attached it to the card front using foam pads.

I found the perfect sentiment in the Clarity word stickers, then added a few dark red Glossies. I finished by covering the cherry with Glossy Accents, to give it a lovely shine (I think you can just see it in the photo below).

Well, that’s taken my up to August 2018 in my Craft Club journey – it does go by quickly when I’m doing one every week. It’s another story evening here, although thankfully not as bad as on Friday. Clearly the best thing to do is to stay indoors and eat cupcakes!
