Welcome to my crafty blog. Just a quick post today with a CAS card. I’ve been leading a craft group this afternoon – such a lovely group of people to get together with but I’m always so tired after bring on my feet all afternoon! I clearly need to do some training and build up my stamina!
I’m aiming to get a few Christmas cards made each month through the year so I have a good stash by December, and a couple of the current challenges struck me as perfect for Christmas. Addicted to CAS have asked for triangles and I thought Stampin’ Up!’s retired punch from the ‘festival of trees’ suite was just the job. I used tartan papers with it, which picks up Just Us Girls theme of ‘plaid’, plus it’s an obvious share for Merry Little Christmas challenge.

I started with a 5×5 card blank and stamped the dotty image from the new ‘daffodil daydream’ set on it a couple of times using ‘watering can’ Archival ink, to give me some ground for my trees.

I then punched the tree out three times – once in a red tartan paper and two more in a green. I popped the red on onto a piece of white card that I’d also punched and then attached all three to the card front. The white card behind the red tree made it stand slightly proud of the green ones, without using foam pads.

I finished by stamping one of the sentiments from the ‘festival of trees’ along the lower edge, also in the ‘watering can’ and then popped Glossies stars on top of the trees.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m off to put my feet up for a bit – I’ll be back with another offering tomorrow.
Love how you added interest to your fabulous plaid trees, Deborah! Great card! Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls!
