lovely butterfly

Welcome to my crafty blog,. I’m back in my happy place with a CAS card today, inspired by the colour palette from CAS Colours and Sketches, which I’ve paired with the ‘affection’ theme from CASology

I started with one of the butterflies from the set designed by Cherry Green for Claritystamp and stamped it in black on a square of white card. I then covered it with the pre-cut mask so I could add the background. I used Clarity’s small circle backdrop stamp for this and brayered Distress Oxides in ‘tattered rose’ and ‘picked raspberry’ onto it, then stamped it in the centre of the card. I don’t have the Stampin’ Up! colours on palette, so these were my nearest matches.

I coloured the butterfly with my Spectrum Noir pencils, blending red and pink across the wings. I’ve got into pencil shading at the moment – it’s very therapeutic!

To finish, I ran a black Sharpie around the edge of the card, attached it to a 6×6 card blank and popped a Clarity word sticker across the circle.

I was struggling with these colours to start with, as I knew I didn’t want to do another Valentine’s card. I think it turned out OK!

  1. Beautiful Deborah! Great coloring for the butterfly. Cherry Green has beautiful products. As for Clarity…I LOVE BARBARA GRAY. It was fated, I came across her very first Shac Shack video on the very same day she made the first video, never looked back – I have been with her every video since. She deserves all the recognition she has recently received, she has done a great job. As have you on this card. Beautiful. Thanks for joining us at CC&S
