daffodil daydream

Hello crafty friends. I had a great tie on Monday at an online class with Joanne James using the new ‘daffodil daydream’ set from Stampin’ Up!, and decided to have another play with it today. I’ve used the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches (well, Joanne is hosting it, so it would be rude not to!), together with the right-hand diagonal from TicTacToe (colouring, embossing, die cut).

I started with a piece of white card to fit an A6 card blank and ran the bottom part through the ‘meadow moments’ embossing folder. I trimmed down a piece of the ‘simply marbleous’ free Saleabration paper and attached it across the top, then put the whole piece on the card front.

I stamped the single daffodil from the set onto white card, then coloured it using my Spectrum Noir pencils and cut it out with the co-ordinating die. I popped it on the card front using foam pads.

I just added the sentiment from the ‘pansy patch’ set to finish, stamping it with ‘bluebird’ Archival ink.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll see you tomorrow with another creation!

  1. A lovely card Deborah, with the daffodil and just the perfect strip of marbled paper behind it that resembles a sky marked with clouds. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card with us at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

  2. I love that embossed section on the bottom panel Deborah and the swirling blue top panel is very reminiscent of a spring sky, perfect for your spring daffodil. Gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!

  3. Love the texture of the embossing and the blue marbled pattern paper really set the daffodil up for center stage perfectly. Great job coloring the daffodil as well – the shading is very well done. Thanks for joining us as CC&S and hope to see you again in our future galleries.
