back to stamping!

Hello crafty friends. Well I’m back in my comfort zone today with a return to stamping, after stretching myself with lots of die cutting over the last couple of weeks! Lots of the challenge blogs are back in business as well after the Christmas break and I’ve managed to combine two in this card. The colours are from CAS Colours and Sketches and the layout is thanks to Freshly Made Sketches

I started with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘hydrangea haven’ stamp set and stamped one of the abstract shapes in the challenge colours onto a square of white card. I don’t have the Stampin’ Up! ink pads so used Distress Oxides in ‘shaded lilac’, ‘tattered rose’ and ‘festive berries’. I blended a little of the ‘tattered rose’ around the edge of the card and then attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

My initial thought was to leave it like this, but I felt it needed something more so stamped the flower and leafy sprays from the ‘touch of ink’ set that was in last year’s SU Sale-a-bration.

I finished by adding a die cut banner with a sentiment from the ‘art gallery’ set, together with a few red Glossies.

Thanks for dropping in. This card’s going to be winging it’s way to a colleague who was recognised in The Queen’s New Year Honours – such great recognition of her work with people who have a learning disability.

  1. I love this Deborah – a perfect way to use the background stamp and the outline foliage was a great topper choice! Lovely vibrant use of the colours too. Thanks for sharing over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!
