have a lovely day

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve just got a quick post this evening, with another clean & simple card, using WOW’s ‘confetti circle’ stencil. I’ve actually managed to combine three challenges for this card – Less is More have gone with a one layer card & spots, and I combined it with the colours in Just Us Girls‘s inspiration photo. I’ve also incorporated the left hand column from TicTacToe‘s grid – stencil, any colour ink & birthday.

I started with the outer spotty circle on the stencil, putting it on a 5×5 card blank and masking off the edges. I wanted to get individual colours on the spots, so used Pergamano’s blending nibs to add Distress Oxides individually to each one. I worked with ‘mustard seed’, ‘evergreen bough’, ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘hickory smoke’ – I tried to get the colours in a random distribution although my natural instinct is to create a pattern!

I then centred the open circle on the stencil and masked the rest off, so I could add ‘mustard seed’ into the middle with a blending brush.

I finished by stamping WOW’s happy birthday sentiment in the centre, adding the two additional ones at the top and bottom to balance each other.

The weather’s been grey and miserable here today, but I hope you’ve had a lovely day, wherever you are. I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.

  1. Deborah… this the perfect way to address the dot problem this week. I love the colors, the design and overall impact of the card. Great work! Thanks so much for joining and sharing at Just Us Girls!
