Welcome to my crafty blog, and another outing for one of my favourite images – the little cat from Claritystamp’s ‘birdhouse garden’ set. This time he’s watching butterflies, not birds, thanks to the theme over at Fusion card challenge. I also took a slightly loose interpretation of their layout sketch, and then used the colours from this week’s Global Design Project.

I started with a piece of white card cut just smaller than A6 size, and stamped Clarity’s ‘butterfly tree’ – I used two inks on the stamp, with ‘peeled paint’ Distress Ink for the tree and ‘dried marigold’ added with a sponge onto the butterflies. The grass is from Clarity’s ‘trees and mantles’ set, also stamped in ‘peeled paint’.

Next was to add the clouds in the sky by lightly brushing ‘stonewashed’ Adirondack ink across Clarity’s mask. I then sat the cat under the tree using black Archival ink.

I stamped the sentiment in black Archival and then attached the whole piece to an A6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. It definitely feels like summer might be over here, so I’m planning to spend the next few days batch making Christmas cards ready for a fete in September.
This is so cute – I love that cat image.
