Claritystamp new design club lookback – candle #107

Welcome to my crafty blog and the next in my series working back through the Claritystamp new design club stamps. Today’s card uses the ‘candle’ from September 2015, which I have to confess has not previously seen the light of day! I thought it would work well with some WOW embossing powder to give it a metallic look.

I started by stamping the upper part of the candle and stick onto a small square of teal card and heat embossed it in ‘rose gold’. As It’s an outline stamp, I then used a Versamark pen to fill in the candlestick and re-embossed it with the ‘rose gold’ powder. I also embossed the candle and flame onto a small scrap of white card and fussy cut them so that I could glue them onto the base piece. Finally, I used the candlestick to emboss a scroll into a couple of the corners.

I then stamped and embossed the sentiment from Clarity’s A6 ‘Christmas rounds – stockings’ set onto another square of team card, and again used the candlestick to put scrolls in a couple of the corners.

All I then needed to do was attached the two square to a 5×5 card blank, offset from each other.

I thought this could make a good Christmas card. I’m going to share it over at a couple of this week’s challenges. The layout is thanks to AAA Cards (two quarters and my favourite colour of teal), which coincidentally also features in the inspiration photo at Just Add Ink (I picked up the teal and coppery colours from the image)

  1. Such a gorgeous card! The combination of the teal and copper colours are beautiful together. The embossing really gives your project something special. Thanks for playing along this week at Just Add Ink. Rochelle xo

  2. The copper embossing against the teal is very striking, Deborah. Hopefully this stamp will see a bit more ink in future 🙂 Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink. x
