Welcome to my crafty blog and a second post for today – it’s rained all afternoon so no chance of gardening and a great excuse for more crafting! I’ve had another play with the new ‘Feather It’ stamp set, designed by Marion Emberson for Julie Hickey designs and thought it would work well with this week’s layout at Freshly Made Sketches (although I hope I haven’t taken too many liberties with the sketch!) This week’s colour scheme at TGIF challenges worked really well with it too.

I started with a square of smooth white card, cut down to fit on a 5×5 card blank, and stamped the feather in ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide. I then added the small spots stamp down each side.

Next was to stamp one of the sentiments from the set in Archival black ink onto a scrap of white card which I trimmed down and then mounted onto a second strip of black card before attaching it to the card front.

I finished by just adding a few black Glossies for contrast against the blue spots.

I must admit I am a fan of Clean and Simple (CAS) cards – definitely less is more on this one!
