Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve stepped up today’s card with a little heat embossing on a Claritystamp that I’ve had for a long time but not used nearly as much as I should. This ‘love is in the air’ stamp is such a great image – it reminds me of a Banksy artwork. I decided it was the perfect stamp for this week’s challenge over at Just Us Girls – just look at that inspiration photo and you’ll see why. I took the layout from Global Design Project as I thought the clouds would echo the background.

I started with a piece of white card cut to fit on a 5×7 card blank, and added the clouds using Clarity’s mask and ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide with a blending brush.

I then stamped the girl with the balloons, again in the ‘chipped sapphire’. I used my stamping platform for this – once stamped, I dried the image with a heat gun and then used a Versamark pen to ink the balloons. Using the stamping platform meant I could stamp them accurately back onto the first image. I then heat embossed them with WOW’s ‘gold metallic’ powder.

I finished by heat embossing the sentiment onto a small piece of dark blue card, adding a strip of white behind it before sticking it to the card front.

This felt like an appropriate card today, as I’m getting ready for a friend’s wedding on Saturday. They’ve had to scale back their plans somewhat because of the Covid restrictions still in place, but it will no doubt still be a day filled with joy. Love will definitely be in the air!
‘Love’ it!! Beautiful.
