Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s time for a new challenge over at Alphabet – we’re up to G this time and Meg has asked us to use green or gold (can you guess which one I went for…?). I’ve gone for a quick and easy design with this card, as I’ve combined it with the latest challenge from As You See It – as well as the ‘foliage’ theme, the task is to complete the card in under 10 minutes!

As I’d only got 10 minutes to do this, I started by getting everything I needed together. I have to say, this is not my usual way of working – let’s just say I often take more of an ‘evolving’ approach to my cards! Unsurprisingly, I haven’t taken my usual ‘work in progress’ photos either – time was too precious!

I first trimmed down the ‘forever greenery’ paper from Stampin’ Up! and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. Next step was to die cut the leafy spray from SU’s ‘forever flourishing’ set and the narrow square frame by Julie Hickey. These were both in white card so I could do them together. I glued the frame onto the designer paper and then added the leafy spray to the right.

At this point I realised the white foliage didn’t stand out well enough against the background, so grabbed a piece of green card that was thankfully on my table and die cut the spray again. I used glue to stick it to the card front, off-setting it slightly against the white one to give it a slight highlight. I popped one of Claritystamp’s word stickers onto a small piece of white card and trimmed it to a narrow border before attaching it with foam pads.

Job done! Come and join us over at The Alphabet Challenge – we’d love to see what you create. Will you go for green or gold?
Oh, and you’re no doubt wondering how long it took me…?

Beautiful! Love the green, and that background is gorgeous!

Patterned paper and stickers – they’re your friend in a speed challenge, that’s for sure! Having said that, nothing about this card suggests that it wasn’t loving crafted over a much longer period of time. I love this set and that spray and you’ve used them to perfection. Thanks for joining in with us for our Foliage Speed Challenge as As You See It.

Great choices for paper and die cuts, Deborah. That narrow white frame really bumps your design up a notch, too! Thanks for getting your adrenaline pumping with us at As You See It Challenges.

This is an awesome creation in under 10 minutes, especially since you had to add the extra foliage piece, but it all worked out perfectly! Thanks for playing with our Speed Stamping challenge this week!
