floral thoughts

Welcome to my crafty blog. Just a quick post today – I’ve been out to lunch with friends on a glorious sunny day, including a walk along the seafront and an icecream. Life doesn’t get much better than that! Sadly, not everyone is in the same fortunate position and today’s card is one of encouragement for someone going through hard times.

Now I’ve got it down off my craft shelves, I keep going back to Stampin’ Up!’s ‘beautiful friendship’ set – it’s really caught my eye again. I’ve gone with three challenges to inspire this card as well! I’ve taken the layout from FabFriday‘s sketch and the colours from TGIF challenge, and then picked up the wreath above the fireplace in Just Add Ink‘s photo.

I drew a light pencil circle on a 6×6 card blank to give myself a guide to follow, and then stamped the large flowers across the bottom of it in ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide. I added the small double flowers and the lilac spray on either side, again in the ‘chipped sapphire’. I then completed the wreath using the double and triple leaves, stamped in ‘shadow grey’ Archival.

I just used the sentiment from ‘A touch of ink’ to finish the card – it didn’t need anything else.

Thanks so much for dropping in – I’ll be back tomorrow with another card.

  1. Your wreath is just lovely, Deborah. I too love this Beautiful Friendship set & it looks lovely in blue & grey. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week. x
Lunch & an ice cream out sounds perfect.

  2. Oh wow, Deborah, this is so elegant! I can’t believe how dramatic this is in a OLC, too – brava! I struggle so much with those, lol. Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
