it’s the little things

Welcome to my crafty blog, and a new challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches. It’s a sketch this week, and my second one as their guest design team member for June.

My new ‘pansy patch’ stamps were just perfect for this design, and I’ve gone with slightly more traditional colours this time round after Saturday’s little creative adventure. I started with a strip of DSP across the front of a 5×5 card blank – this is an old Stampin’ Up! one from my stash, but I can’t remember what it’s called! I then stamped the large pansy and two small ones in ‘dried marigold’ and ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxides and then die cut them, together with leaves in ‘iced spruce’. They then sat nicely together in a bunch on the front of the card to pick up the elements of the sketch.

All I then needed to do was add the sentiment from the set – this is such a nice phrase to thank someone for their kindness.

Thanks for dropping in. We’d love to see what you come up with for this week’s challenge. In the meantime, I’m also off to share this over at TicTacToe and .Just Us Girls . The sentiment is a perfect way to thank someone for their kindness, and I hope I haven’t stretched things too far for the middle row of TicTacToe’s grid – there’s clearly blue and floral on this card, but I think the small pansies are basically circles as well!

  1. What a pretty trio of pansies Deborah – I love the sunny yellow against the navy (I think those papers were called ‘Floral Boutique’ or similar – a very popular pack of navy and white patterns!) Perfectly CAS and I think you can consider the TicTacToe brief creatively met!!
