Welcome to my crafty blog and my regular Sunday lookback through Claritystamp’s new design club. This week it’s the turn of the ‘lady’s mantle’ floral stamp, #93 from July 2014.

I started with a piece of white card, trimmed down to fit on an A6 card blank. I inked up the stamp with Distress Oxides in ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘picked raspberry’, using a sponge so I could focus the ink on the different parts of the stamp (green on the stems and pink on the flower heads). I stamped the flowers three times along the lower edge of the card, starting from the centre, and then brushed ‘mowed lawn’ along the flower stems.

I then added a couple of little bugs from Clarity’s ‘blooming corner and insects’ set, using ‘mowed lawn’ for the caterpillar and blending that and the ‘picked raspberry’ on the stamp for the dragonfly. The sentiment was also stamped in the green.

All I then had to do was attach the topper to the card blank. I quite like the way the lower edge stands out against the card, but fades into the white at the top.

I’m going to share this over at Addicted to CAS, as it definitely fits their theme of ‘bugs’!

Hello, Deborah! Thanks for participating in our “Bugs” challenge at Addicted to CAS! The repetition of the “Lady’s Mantle” is a great background for your bugs to crawl on and fly away from – love it!
