new home blessings

Welcome to my crafty blog. I spent the afternoon in an online crafty link-up with my sister and my craft buddy, playing with the latest Claritystamp Craft Club set from April. It’s great to just spend a session together with each of us using the same stamps but coming up with very different results.

I’ve taken inspiration for this card from the current challenge over at Time Out, where the theme is ‘move’. I decided to do a new home card for someone I know who’s moving to their next house

I started with one of my inky mop-up card pieces from a previous project and stamped the trees from the Craft Club set onto it on ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide.

I then added the house from the ‘wee village’ set, again in the chipped sapphire, and coloured it with Pergaliner pencils. Next was to add the outer part of a circle mask and blend some ‘speckled egg’ and a little of the ‘chipped sapphire’ through it.

I trimmed the card down and ran a black Sharpie pen around the edges to give a very narrow frame, before stamping the sentiment and the birds onto it in ‘chipped sapphire’. All I then needed to do was attach it to a 5×5 card blank and it was finished.

I made a few cards today using inky backgrounds and this stamp set. Sometimes it’s so satisfying to just be able to produce some quick and easy cards that fill up your stash.
