A cat lover’s card

Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card is definitely one for a cat lover! I’m very fond of them myself, but not sure I could cope with five in the house… I’ve been doign a lot of stamping recently, so thought it ws time I got some of my dies out again – these are the Claritystamp ‘cats on a chair’ quarterette aperture dies. Why quarterette? Because there are 4 mini dies in the set – I’ve used two of them for this card.

I started with a black A6 card blank and die cut the first quarterette die over to the left hand side. I then lined up the second die against it to the right and cut that one out, to give me a wider scene. I did have to trim a tiny bit of card between the two images with a craft knife, where I hadn’t got the second die completely against the first image.

I had an offcut piece of ‘Barb’s favourite paper’ from the Amazonia pack which was about the right size , so trimmed it down to fit the card blak. None of my rectangular dies were the right proportion, so I cut the inner part out using my paper trimmer, leaving a 1.2cm frame.

I then attached the inner part behind the die cut image and the border onto the front of the card. I stamped the little sentiment (from the Clarity February 2020 New Design Club stamp) onto the lower left of the frame, using black Archival.

I decided it needed a bit more definition to finish it, so shaded in the chairs and curtains using a purple Spectrum Noir pencil.

I’m going to share this card over at The Paper Players. They’ve got a Tic Tac Toe challenge this week – I’ve taken the prompts from the top row (die-cut, animal, scene)
