Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve used another retired Stampin’ Up! set for today’s card, and it’s one that’s right up my street! The cups and sentiments in the ‘Coffee Cafe’ set work for so many occasions – today’s card is intended to send support to a friend. It’s definitely true in my world that ‘life happens, coffee helps’.
I started by stamping the sentiment onto a piece of white A6 card using WOW embossing ink and clear powder, which I then heat embossed. That gave me the perfect base for using the resist technique with my inks. I then used a blending brush to work Distress Oxide in ‘mermaid lagoon’ across the embossed card – the embossed words ‘resist’ the ink, which just soaks into the bare card leaving the pattern white.

Next was to create the coffee cup. I stamped the cup image onto white card in Archival ‘espresso’ (obviously!) and then die cut it out, together with a brown cupholder and a white lid. I gently shaded a line across the lid to give it a 3D effect and then glued them together before attaching to the card front with foam pads

I decided the coffee cup needed something else just to soften the cupholder, so die cut a couple of little hearts and popped those onto it.

I’m planning to share this card over at this month’s WOW embossing challenge on Facebook, where the theme is ‘coffee break’. Job done!
So pretty! Love the CAS and that soft blue background!
