Welcome to my little crafty blog. I should have been at the Claritystamp Open Day in Kent today with my sister, but Covid-19 has put a stop to that, as it has so much of what we knew as normal life. So instead I’ve spent the afternoon playing with some of my Clarity stamps. Air travel is still very limited, so I decided to get myself a hot air balloon to float away somewhere, using the ‘Up, Up and Away’ stamp set
I started by stamping the frame, and then masked it off (this set has precut reusable masks included) before stamping the trees in the lower corner

Having also stamped the hot air balloon onto a separate piece of card, I then watercoloured the tress and the balloon using Artistry Inks and a water brush. It’s a very relaxing way to spend a half hour – I went for fairly traditional colours on the balloon, inspired by drawings of the Montgolfier brothers back in the 18th century. I cut the hot air balloon out, and curled the card slightly using scissor blades, so that it looked more rounded

I mounted the balloon onto the card from using foam tape strips, and then stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner

I’m entering this card into this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge over at https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ where Amy has designed this week’s sketch.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you get some time to enjoy yourself this weekend, even if you can’t get ‘up, up and away’.
Such a shame you missed your day out – glad to see you used your time wisely making this beauty instead!
