Welcome to my little crafty blog. As it’s Father’s Day today, I thought I’d share a card I made for my son to send to his dad. He used to drive a battered VW Beetle when we first met, and I dug this stamp out of an old set I got from Kanban.
I stamped the car in black Archival ink and then heat embossed it with clear powder. I wanted to give it a metallic sheen and so then painted it using mica powder and water. I definitely didn’t want a polished effect, as that would have missed the point (although this car doesn’t look nearly as bad as his did, which at one point was pale blue with a black bonnet and an orange door…)

I finished off the car with adding pale grey to the bumper, windscreen and headlights , with orange for the indicators, using Promarkers. I then mounted it on a wide pane of spotted paper, which gives it a bit of a sixties vibe. The sentiments finished it off
