You can do this

Hello, and welcome to my little crafty blog. It’s another warm weekend here in the UK, and today’s card turned out to have a very summery feel. I’ve made it as support and encouragement for a friend who’s having a procedure done next week – I thought this sentiment from the new ‘forever fern’ set from Stampin Up was ideal

The card background was inspired by an online class I did recently with the brilliant Marion Emberson from Sugar and Spice https://www.sugarandspicecrafts.co.uk/ I started by brushing Distress Inks over a piece of white cardstock, blending them with the darker shade at the bottom

I then used several of the leaf stamps from the ‘forever fern’, stamping them with Versamark and heat embossing in white.

I decided to use this week’s sketch from the Fab Friday blog challenge for the card design. http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/ I was absolutely delighted to be one of the Fab Faves in their last challenge, with my thank you stencil heart card – the first time I’ve got an award!

I offset the background onto a purple card mat to bring the colours out, and mounted it on a 5×7 card blank. I finished it with another strip of purple card, with the sentiment heat embossed in white

Thanks for dropping into my blog. Wishing everyone a good week ahead – whatever you’ve got planned, you can do it!

  2. I’m just catching up on some pre-procedure reading and not only is this card beautiful, it has just dropped through my letterbox- how lucky am I? I can honestly say it is even more beautiful in real life. Thank you for you king thoughts – just the lift I needed before I set off this morning. Thank you dear Deborah!
