Hello crafty friends and welcome to Sunday! I’ve got a busy day on the blog today and we’re starting early with these cute new Christmas Animals sampler stamps, which Barbara is launching over on Clarity’s YouTube this afternoon. I had the perfect option for putting them into action as well with our new board at Christmas (or not) BINGO. The adorable polar bear was the ideal basis for my design team card using the prompts of winter, icy blue & snowflakes from Column I.

The first step was to emboss a frame onto a 3.5″ square of premium card using an embedder and a ball tool. I stamped the polar bear square into the centre of the card with black Archival ink, then cut myself a mask for the bear from Clarity’s reusable blank material. I then laid one of the Build a Scene masks over him and brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide into the sky area.

Next was to outline the frame and shade in the bear’s hat with blue Polychromo pencils, before stamping a few snowflakes from the Christmas Animals – Polar Bear stamps, again with the ‘tumbled glass’.

I found a pale blue mount in the Antarctica companion papers and added it to my topper. You won’t be surprised to see that I used another square embedder to emboss the front of a 5×5 card blank before attaching the topper to it!

So, don’t miss Barbara & Paul at 2pm this afternoon with this great new set of small stamps (although I’ll have to catch up this evening as we’ve got a family lunch out to celebrate my younger son’s graduation – he’s just qualified as a learning disability nurse with first class honours!)
And we’d love to see you come along to ConBC and share with us how the prompts on our board have inspired you. Just choose one column and include at least 3 of the elements on your card.
