Merry & bright snowglobe

Hello everyone. It’s Seasonal Saturday (although I have been sharing Christmas cards through the week!) so I’m back with another of Clarity’s new Snow Globe toppers, paired with a few of the Christmas Friends & Family stamps. These stamps are perfect for story telling on cards – love this little chap making off with his own Christmas tree!

Again, this was a fairly quick and easy one thanks to the fab Snow Globe topper. I chose one in less traditional colours (love the blend of lilac through to almost peach) and masked the base of the globe with low tack tape. As before, I traced the outline onto the tape and cut it out, then stamped the trees, boy and a bit of grass in ‘peat moss’ Archival ink.

Next was to overlay the matching embedder, fixing it with low tack tape on the front of the card before flipping it over. I first used the base of a Pergamano tool to push around the embedder and locate the shape, then sharpened the crease with a small ball tool. Those of you who’ve been reading this blog for a while will know that this is one of my favourite techniques!

I added one of the Christmas animals sentiments followed by a mount of Indian Summer sompanion paper that I’d cut with one of the Lattice Doodle Frame-It Panel dies. Not content with the shaped embedder around my topper image, I used one of the square ones to emboss a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank before attaching the topper.

The finishing touch was to add some sparkle to the stars in the sky with a Quickie glue pen and Perga glitter.

These toppers are going to be so useful for batch making cards – I’m already ramping up my production rate! My little lumberjack chap was partly inspired by the palette at Color Dare – I love the blended colours on the topper against the green stamping. And the theme at Holly & Ivy is , as always. ‘anything goes’.
