Retro triangles

Hello again everyone. I’ve got a second card to share with you today – this is one of my demos from this afternoon’s Clarity TV show, using the fab Retro Triangles stamp set. It looks like a really busy set of images but, if you separate them out, each one works really well on it’s own. I went with the jumbled triangles (not sure if that’s their proper name!) and the birthday sentiment for an easy card that’s got lost of options with different colours.

So, I first cut a piece of the 6×4.5″ premium card down to a square. I then inked the triangles stamp up with ‘uncharted mariner’ Distress Oxide, using a spot-on sponge to distribute it evenly before stamping it into place. I then did the same with the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment, stamping it across the triangles so it looks like one integrated image.

Keeping to my favoured approach of ‘keeping it simple’, I then just shaded in the outlines of the open triangles with a pink Polychromo pencil.

I found a matching mount in the Antarctica companion paper pack. I then used one of the nested square embedders with a small ball tool to emboss a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank and attached the topper to it.

It was a fun show this afternoon (and huge thanks if you were able to join me & Paul – it is sitting there on Clarity’s YouTube page if you want to catch up). These stamps are a real bargain in the Big Autumn Sale too – 50% off until midnight on Monday!

I’m going to share this with a couple of current challenges. The touch of pink picks up the theme at 613 Avenue Create and my geometric shapes pick up part of the theme at Seize the Birthday – the card doesn’t use a word die, though, so it’s headed for their ‘anything goes’ option.
