Hello everyone. I’m back with another look at the Big Blooms – Stripey Flowers stamp set that I used on yesterday’s card. This time I’ve gone with the large leafy flower from the set as my focal image, adding extra depth to the background with one of the Leafy Overlay Stencils.

I cut one of the pieces of 6×4.5″ premium card to a square and stamped the large flower onto it with black Archival ink. I then shaded it with a combination of yellow Polychromos, blending two greens together for the leaves.

Next step was to mask off the leaves with the pre-cut masks that come with the stamps (so useful!). I laid one of the Leafy Overlay stencils across the image and brushed ‘mustard seed’ and ‘peeled paint’ Distress Oxides across it, repeating it twice more to fill in the background behind the flower.

I popped the masks back on their carrier sheet and stamped the sentiment into place. Having a coordinating mount of Amazonia companion paper, I embossed a frame onto a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder and a small ball tool, then sat the topper within it.

These stamps are lovely simple images, but they have such impact. And with Clarity’s Big Autumn Sale on all week, everything I’ve used on this card is available at a discount. I’d call that a result!
I’ve also managed to tie a few current challenges together on this card, taking the colours from Color Dare. My bold flower works for AAA Birthday and for Beautiful Blossoms; finally I picked up the centre column of frame, leaves & stencil from TicTacToe‘s grid.

So lovely! I do like yellow and don’t seem to create with it very often… need to change that!

This is gorgeous and I love the way you added more leaves in different shades behind the focal image.
