Hello crafty friends. Today’s card combines the Decorative Panel & Window dies with a piece of Toscana designer card for a 90th birthday card for a dear friend of mine. These dies haven’t seen action for over 2 years, so I thought it was time they got an airing – they’re great for special occasions like this one.

I started by trimming down a piece of the Toscana card, to make it slightly smaller than a 5×7 card blank, then centred the arched window die and the two decorative panels onto it to cut my window aperture.

Net was to start my scene on the card blank. I lined up the die cut topper with the windows open, then gave myself some pencil guidelines around the aperture so I knew where I was aiming for! I then brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the Clouds mask to create the sky for my view through the window. I gave the ink a few minutes to dry then rubbed out the pencil marks.

I then attached the window topper onto my card blank. With the windows opened, I could add the stamps I wanted – the I Am Essential Birthday sentiment, 90 from the Word Chain Alphabet set, and a few birds from the Friends & Family collection.

I’m so pleased with how this turned out – it was definitely worth getting these fab dies back out of the cupboard! And they’re a real bargain in the Clarity Autumn Sale now at a whopping 70% off! Go check them out!
I want to share the love a bit further too, with a few current challenges. Double D have got a ‘windows’ theme, Allsorts are looking for cards with more than one fold and my Toscana designer card fits the brief at Love Those Pretty Papers.
