Monochrome dancers

Hello crafty friends – I hope your weekend is going well. I’ve got the Joy of Dance stamps out for another airing, this time keeping it monochrome and pairing my dancers with the piano keys die cut from an older Craft Club set – it’s available as a back issue so you can still get your hands on it!

For once, this came together really easily, thanks to my monochrome theme. I first cut the piano keys from black card and glued them onto a 3.5″ square of premium card.

Next was to stamp my dancers and sentiment above the diecut, using black Archival ink.

All I then had to do was shade them in. I gave them an undercoat with my Payne’s Grey Polychromo pencil, then went over the top with a black Pergacolour pen – it’s a great way to stop felt tip colouring from ‘bleeding’ on your card. With a mount of black card it sat perfectly on a 5×5 card blank.

I do rather love this! It reminds me of one of those Hollywood films with people dancing on oversized piano keys – very Gene Kelly! I’m going to share this with 613 Avenue Create for their ‘anything goes’ option, with Word Power (love that sentiment) and with Inkspirational for their CAS theme.
