Hello crafty friends! Here we are back at the weekend again it’s time for my Seasonal Saturday card thanks to our new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. We’ve got a slightly unusual colour combination to play with this time, but I decided it would work rather will with the Winter Build a Wreath stamps (you’ll know these are one of my favourite collections, so I don’t need much of an excuse!)

It’s been a bit of a busy week, so I kept this one simple – but that would make it perfect for batch making. I drew a curved pencil guideline onto a 3.5″ square of premium card and started stamping the holly spray in ‘dry weed’ Artistry ink across the card, using a stamp pen. I then added another leafy sprig, again in the ‘dry weed’ but this time second generation so I had a lighter tone.

Next was to add the bow in ‘fine wine’, followed by the tiny poinsettias. The Artistry inks can be quite juicy, so I blotted the inked stamp each time onto a spot-on sponge, which blended it out nicely and stopped it giving me a heavy blistered image.

I wove a few of the little orange segments into my swag with ‘cinnamon tea’ Artistry ink, then filled it out a bit further with the fir branches, again in the ‘dry weed’.

I stamped one of the Bijou Statement Sentiments below the swag with the ‘fine wine’ ink, then added a mount of companion paper. Finally I embossed the front of a 5×5 card blank with a square embedder and a ball tool, before attaching the topper to it.

How are you getting on with your Christmas card stash? You’ll know I’ve been beavering away with them all year, trying to make at least one each week (other than when I was away travelling), so my pile is building nicely.
There are always Christmas themed challenges running in blog-land too – I’m going to share this with CAS Christmas for their ‘poinsettia’ theme and Peace on Earth where it’s ‘anything goes’. I’m also popping it in the Neglected Stuff gallery, as I hadn’t used my little Artistry inks in forever!
