Hello crafty friends. I’ve got another look at the Joy of Dance stamps on today’s card, but a very different angle from yesterday’s offering – this time the glitterball is the star of the show!

So, starting with a 5×5 square of premium card, I stamped one of the Funky Frames onto it with ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxide, then heat embossed it with WOW’s clear sparkle powder. I repeated the process with the glitterball, so it hung from the top of the frame. Once all the heat embossing was done, I shaded in the ball with a silver gel pen.

Next, I cut the topper down with one of the Film Strip Nested Doodle Frame-It Panel Dies, then backed it with a layer of silver mirri card cut to the same size so the silver just showed through the die cut frame. I then added a mount of pink Waimea Falls companion paper.

Now, this is where I realised that I hadn’t properly thought my design through (not the first time, either!) I wanted to add one of the sentiments in the gap and had intended to stamp it in the pink, but changed my mind and went for silver instead. That meant I needed to stamp it with Versamark clear ink, then heat emboss it with WOW’s superfine silver powder – all of which was fine, except I really should have done that before adding the mounts! Fortunately I got away with it, without the heat gun warping the adhesive on the backing card – phew! I then used a nested square embedder (it’s slightly bigger than the regular square ones) with a ball tool to emboss the front of a 6×6 card blank and attached the topper to sit within it.

So, this is not entirely where I was heading when I started out with these stamps, but I rather like the way it’s finished – those of you who’ve read my blog previously will know that my cards often ‘evolve’ as I go along!
And having ended up here, I’m going to share this card with a couple of current challenges. 613 Avenue Create have got an option of ‘pink’, while Seize the Birthday are looking for cards with double frames – both boxes ticked!
