For Sarah

Hi everyone. It’s been a sad few days in the Clarity crafts world, as we unexpectedly lost our dear friend Sarah Brennan last week. Sarah was a core member of the design team and known to so many in the Clarity community – she ran the ‘make and takes’ at the last few Open Days and was usually at the summer retreats. I last saw her back in June (although we didn’t get to spend a lot of time together, as she was running the ‘make and takes’ and I was at my demo table all day), but we did manage to have dinner together with the rest of the team.

You may wonder at this card in tribute to her, but it’s one that made us both smile as we produced nearly identical sample cards with these stamps earlier this year! I’m always amazed how rarely that happens when we all get the same products in the team. I hadn’t shared this, as Sarah’s was posted first and it’s been sitting in my drafts folder until now. It’s a simple little card, using a Landscape Backdrop Print tag, a girl from the Triangle People and the flower from the SHAC Bouquet set – all the images were shaded with Polychromo pencils.

The sentiment is also from the SHAC Bouquet set and I simply added a pink mount of Waimea Falls companion paper and a 5×5 card blank.

So this feels like a bit of a celebration of the wonderful Sarah Brennan. She leaves a rainbow-shaped hole in the Clarity team (her favourite colour combination) – I can’t believe I won’t be seeing her again, but I feel blessed to have called her a friend.
