Hello crafty friends. I told you the new Waymarker stamps were my new favourite and I’m back with another card to prove it! This one is also very appropriate, as I’m taking a break for the next few weeks – I’ll be at Clarity’s annual summer retreat for the next two days, then I’m heading off on this year’s travels with my good friends. So I thought I’d go out in style with a signpost to new adventures!

I cut a piece of premium card to 5 inches square and stamped the waymarker into the centre with ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, perching the little robin on top. Next, the pre-cut reusable mask that’s part of the set came into it’s own as I covered up the signpost and the bird. I switched to the Clouds mask (another perennial favourite of mine!) and brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across it to create my sky, before inking in the ground with the Hills mask and ‘peeled paint’.

Having lifted off the masks, I used a waterbrush to shade in the signpost with ‘pumice stone’ and ‘walnut stain’ Distress Oxides, adding a little ‘festive berries’ to my robin.

The final decision was which of the sentiments from the set to use, adding them in the ‘potting soil’ Archival. I then simply added a mount of Antarctica companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

And that’s all there was to it! I’m going to share this with Cardz4Galz who are looking for ‘blue skies’ and with Four Seasons who are still celebrating summer.

  4. These stamps are so versatile and you are using them creatively too. I just realized that I have a die that is like this. Maybe I’ll use it to make something similar.
