Party animals for Sparkles Challenge #203

Hello again everyone! It’s been a busy couple of days on this little blog with new stamps and new challenges, so I’ve combined them together with another look at the new Waymarker stamps, teamed up with the hares from the Tree Canopy Scene stamps for our latest theme of ‘animals’ at Sparkles Challenge

I started by cutting one of the Painterly backgrounds to a square, stamped the banner across the corner and covered it with the pre-cut reusable masks that helpfully come with the set. I could then stamp the waymarker image in ‘potting soil’ Archival to sit behind the banner.

I added the two hares from the Tree Canopy Scene set and shaded the banner with a couple of Polychromo pencils, picking up the tones from the background card. I also stamped some of the grass from the trees set across the bottom of the way marker, plus some scrines with the pencils to add depth to the ground. I then filled my way marker with some of the sentiments from the set.

Now, I was going to finish here, but the two hares on their own didn’t look like much of a party, so I added a couple more friends and a few birds in the sky (probably keeping an eye out for crumbs rom the sandwiches!) After running a brown Sharpie around the card edges I mounted it on a layer of pale blue Toscana companion paper. I embossed a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank with a square embedder and a ball tool and sat the topper within it to finish.

I told you yesterday that these were my new favourite stamps and I just love how versatile they are – they work on loads of different backgrounds and styles! The sentiments are really fun too, which is why I’m off to share this in the gallery at Word Power.
