Hello everyone and welcome to our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, where Joanne has given us a lovely palette to play with. I’m still pulling out products that are in Clarity’s Half Price Members’ Sale and today opted for one of the Just Flowers Silhouette Framer stamps – the daisies from the top left of the pack. These are such lovely simple images, just perfect for adding a little colour to a card.

I started by inking up the daisies with ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxide, using a spot-on sponge to make sure the ink was evenly distributed on the stamp and giving it a quick spritz of water before stamping it onto a piece of premium card.

Next was to cut out the image – I actually did this in two stages, first using one of the Circle Doodle Aperture dies to create the frame of dots, then lining it up with a Nested Circle die to cut the topper itself.

I went with a combination of ‘coral’ and ‘light cadmium red’ Polychromo pencils to shade in my flowers. I then used a round embedder and a ball tool to emboss a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank, which nicely accommodated my little topper. I haven’t used any of the Rub-On Transfers for a while, and found the perfect one in the Friendship Sentiments set.

Do hop on over to the CAS C&S blog to check out the cards from the rest of the design team and then we’d love to see how you put these colours to use in our gallery.
I’m going to share this with a couple of other challenges, too. Cardz 4 Galz have got a friendship theme, and Just Add Ink are looking for dies or stencils on our cards.

Deborah this is so pretty! I love the way the florals overhang the stamped circle and the graduated colouring. The repetition of the circle shape in the die border adds a lovely cohesive finish too. Just lovely!
