F for Festivities at Alphabet Challenge

Hello everyone. I’ve got some more new goodies to share with you today, together with our new F for Festivities theme at Alphabet Challenge. I put one of the new Wee Affirmation Stencils to use on my design team card – I can’t decide whether this couple are celebrating an engagement or getting ready to party at a music festival (lots of others are taking place despite it being a rest year for Glastonbury).

My starting point for this card was one of the watercolour backgrounds that I made on a small square of premium card at Barbara’s workshop at Clarity’s Open Days last month. I’ve got quite a few backgrounds in my folder from the day, just awaiting their moment in the spotlight!

I then simply overlaid one of the Affirmation Stencils onto the background and sponged ‘black soot’ Distress Oxide through it.

I perched my little couple from the Life in Miniature stamp set on the end of my sentiment, then added the banner stamp from the March Craft Club (#233). I had to stamp it twice to reach across the card (I’m quite pleased that I managed to line it up pretty well!), then shaded the pennants with pink & green Polychromo pencils.

Having used a square embedder and a ball tool to emboss a frame onto a 5×5 card blank, I added a mount of pale green Waimea Falls companion paper to my topper and sat it on the card front.

You can catch Barbara at 10am today on Clarity Social TV putting more of these stencils through their paces, including the great stencil-mate that comes with the set.

I’m going to share this with the challenges at Word Power, The Paper Players for their ‘summer love’ theme, and We Love Stamping‘s option of ‘summertime’.

  1. So very pretty! Love the watercolored background! I really need to take an afternoon and prepare some backgrounds – you and another friend always have the prettiest ones already made which is such a timesaver!
