Happy view

Hello everyone! It’s the first Sunday of the month and so Barbara is back on Clarity TV this afternoon (2-4pm) to showcase the new Tree Canopy Stamps, which you got a sneaky peek of on my July calendar page the other day! This time, I’ve put one of the Dawn & Dusk landscape round toppers into action for my background, rather than one I made myself.

Just a simple process on this one, having selected one of the Dusk images to work on. I’ve been working a bit more with coloured Archival (permanent) inks for images, as they work really well on the printed toppers. I started with one of the sets of tree trunks and stamped it in ‘thistle’, which toned beautifully with the sky. I could then add the leaf canopy in ‘peeled paint’ Archival, to make it more of a summery scene, together with the little grasses to ground the trees..

I simply repeated the process with another cluster of trees on the right, added a word sticker and a mount of Northern Lights companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

There’s a reason I went with this particular topper too – it took me back to our holiday in Australia last year, when we spent a few days on Kangaroo Island off the coast of Adelaide. This was the view from the balcony on my lodge! It was an amazing place (I thoroughly recommend it if you ever get the chance) – if you zoom in, you’ll see that the little brown dots on the grass are kangaroos!

I am going to get back into making more of my own backgrounds, but Clarity have got such a great supply of printed toppers now that it’s a shame not to keep putting them to use! I didn’t have any kangaroo stamps to add into my little scene, but I am going to share it with 613 Avenue Create for their ‘holidays’ theme.
