Hello crafty friends – how come it’s Friday again already? It’s another seriously hot day here again in the South East of England and I’m down in Kent for Clarity Social TV. This card is one of my demos from the 10am show, using the Spring Tags & Frames stamps and I used one of the images to frame this fab little cutie from the Friends & Family Silhouette Miniatures set.

It’s also the start of our new theme at Alphabet Challenge today – we’ve reached E and want to see ’embossing’ (either heat or dry techniques) on your cards in our gallery.

So, I started with a 3.5″ square of premium card, stamped the round frame onto it with ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide, then heat embossed it with WOW’s super fine clear powder, repeating the proces with the sentiment (which is from the ‘autumn tags & frames’ set)

I used the outer part of one of the Full Moon masks to cover the frame and then blended ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide across the clouds mask from the Build a Scene masks set – the new small ink blending brushes are perfect for this. I added a little of the ‘rustic wilderness’ across the hills mask from the set too to create my ground.

Next was to shade in the flowers and leaves in the frame with my Polychromo pencils

And then I added the little miss with her butterfly from the Friends & Family Silhouette stamps, inking her up in the ‘rustic wilderness’ and catching the butterfly on the corner of a ‘carved pumpkin’ ink pad – the stamp pens make this so easy. There’s a fab tiny butterfly stamp in the set too – I inked it up with the ‘carved pumpkin’ and added a few more fluttering in the sky, then popped a few green ones around the edges to fill out the frame.

To finish, I embossed an inner frame around the edge of my topper with a square embedder and a ball tool, then repeated the process on the front of a 5×5 card blank before attaching the topper.

So if you didn’t manage to join me at 10 this morning, you can see the show on catch-up here. I’ll be back on screen at 2pm with more goodies to share too.
Meanwhile, I’m going to share this card with a couple of other challenges. Cardz4Galz have got ‘clean & simple’ as their theme (my favourite style, as you know!) and my stencilled clouds & hill work for Stencil Fun.

So pretty! Looking through the frame is like looking through a porthole into the sky! Love this!
