Good morning everyone and welcome to Seasonal Saturday, with our new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown where Fabiola has given us a non-traditional colour palette to play with! I’m always partial to a bit of pink on my Christmas cards, so was very happy to see this one and I decided it would work well with the bell image from the Christmas Elements – Snowman stamp set

I found a mop-up piece of card in my stash (haven’t used one of these for ages!) and started by stamping the bow image onto it in black Archival ink. I then added the swirly bell stamp below it, so it looked like it was hanging from the bow.

It was easy to then add colour to the bow and bell with my Polychromo pencils

Finally, I added a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper and one of the Celebrations & Christmas word stickers (sadly no longer available on Clarity’s website), which I also mounted on a bit of the companion paper. I then used a square embedder and a ball tool to emboss an indented frame onto a 5×5 card blank and attached my topper to sit within it. The finishing touch was to highlight the little wheel of dots on the bell with a fine white Posca pen.

So, how will you choose to use these colours on a Christmas card? Check out the other inspiration from the rest of the design team over on the 52 CCT if you need help to get started – and we’d love to see your creations in our gallery.
I’m going to share this one with a few other challenges too. Sparkles Christmas‘ theme is ‘jingle bells’ and Peace on Earth are always ‘anything goes’. Double D aren’t a Christmas challenge, but do want to see bows on cards, so that’s another box ticked!
