D for Double at Alphabet Challenge

Hello and welcome to Friday’s blog. Today we’ve got a new theme starting at Alphabet Challenge – we’ve reached D and Melanie has opted for Double, looking for us to use two of something on our cards. I’ve got another design with the new Friends & Family Silhouettes, this time using the Childhood Days set – this little pair of pups are just so cute!

Today’s scene is on one of Barbara’s Landscapes toppers – I started by running low tack tape along the bottom edge of the background, then stamped the boy and dog sitting on the fence in black Archival ink (the low tack tape meant I could get the base of the fence bang on the edge of the background). I then popped the second puppy into place and added one of the Tall Feel Good Sentiments.

I added the little birds from the set into the sky and shaded around the fence and under the little pup with a grey Polychromo pencil, then cut the topper down to a square and ran a black Sharpie around the edges. I found a co-ordinating mount in the Toscana companion paper (I was looking for a yellow/gold one, but the pale blue really pulls out the colours in the topper) and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

This challenge has such a wide range of possibilities – what two things will you include on your cards? Come and share them with us at Alphabet Challenge.

And I’m going to share this one with a couple of other challenges too – AAA Birthday’s theme is ‘for boys’ and that fab sentiment works for Word Power too.
