Dotted blooms wishes

Hello crafty friends and welcome to today’s post! I’m a bit late with it, having been looking after my 17 month old grandson today, but better late than never, as they say! Today’s card is another of my DT samples with the new Dotted Blooms and Statement Sentiments stamps, taking a layout I’ve used a few times in the past with various stamp sets.

I started with a 4.5″ square of Clarity’s premium card, stamped the sentiment into the centre with ‘pine needles’ Distress Ink, then used #6 of the Big & Bold Sentiment Embedders with a ball tool to emboss a frame around it. I then stamped a bunch of the Dotted Blooms into the top left and bottom right corners, using ‘saltwater taffy’, ‘ripe persimmon’, and ‘barn door’ Distress Oxides for the flowers, with ‘pine needles’ and ‘evergreen bough’ for the stems and leaves.

I then simply added shading to the flowers and leaves with my Polychromo pencils, matching the colours as closely as I could to the inks. All that was then required was a mount of dark green Antarctica companion paper and a 5×5 card blank.

I always think this is such a pretty layout, and it’s perfect for these large sentiment stamps (and just about any occasion too!) I’m going to pop these flowers into the galleries at Make My Monday, 613 Avenue Create and Beautiful Blossoms, all of whom have got floral themes.
