Art Deco sympathy

Hello crafty friends. Just dropping in quickly this evening after a long day at work to share a simple card with us featuring the Tall Art Deco sentiment stamps and the matching Embedder Stencil – they are both Products of the Month for May, so add one or both to your shopping for double loyalty points on the whole content of your basket! I’ve made a sympathy card this time round, sitting the sentiment on a piece from the Landscapes Backdrop Print card.

I cut a quarter piece of the backdrop print card, trimming off the white borders and stamped the sentiment in the centre. I then used one of the Sentiment Embedder pieces (#6) with a ball tool to emboss a frame around the words.

I ran low tack tape along the left hand edge of the framed words and stamped one of the Mini Landscapes – Countryside images to the side, then repeated the process to add the image on the right. I added shading with Polychromo pencils to fill in the hills and enhance the water.

Looking at the image further, I though it looked a little unbalanced, so added another hill on the right with a micron pen and stamped the little pair of birds from the Countryside set into place. I cut a backing mount from Indian Summer companion paper using a Film Strip Doodle Frame-It Panel die, then attached the whole piece to a 5×5 card blank.

I’m popping this into the challenges at Word Power and Simply CAS.
