Hello crafty friends. It’s a busy couple of days in my little bloggy world and I’ve got a second card to share again today, this time for the new theme at Sparkles Challenge. Maria has given us ‘pastels and/or rabbits’, which is a great springtime theme and I’ve managed to combine both elements into my design team card! I was looking for a bunny themed stamp and remembered the A6 Whimsy Hares set (I do love these floral bunnies!), which I’ve teamed up with the flowers from the Branches, Twigs & Sprigs stamps.

I started with a quarter piece of one of the 7×7 Landscape Backdrop Prints, trimming off the white borders to give me a small square, then stamped one of the hares onto it using ‘gathered twigs’ Distress Ink – I used a Spot-on Sponge to ink the stamp so it was evenly distributed and not blotchy.

Next, I masked the hare with the pre-cut mask that’s with the stamps, so that I could add spring wild flowers around him. I stamped the small leaves from the Branches, Twigs & Sprigs set in ‘bundled sage’ Distress Oxide, then added two of the little flowers stamps in ‘kitsch flamingo’ and ‘stormy sky’. I really like the way the flowers blend in with the background.

I cut a mount from pink companion paper using the Hearts Doodle Frame-it Panel Die and layered the topper onto it with a narrow layer of white paper, before adding one of the I Am Essential – Birthday sentiments with the ‘gathered twigs’. I used one of the square embedders and a ball tool to emboss a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank, then attached the topper to it.

So, here’s a soft, pastel springtime bunny, ready to play amongst the flowers. What will you do with our theme at Sparkles? This challenge runs for the next two weeks, so plenty of time to play along.
I’ve drawn additional inspiration from a couple of other challenges for this card, too. My colours were based on the palette at Just Add Ink, together with the ‘spring’ theme at Inspire.Create.

The patterned rabbits/hares are such a delight and I like how you have paired this one with the soft florals and colours.
