Hello everyone. The Poppets are having a few days off, so I’m sharing a Christmas card today using the tree from ‘Linda’s Deep in the Forest’ and the fab little pair from ‘Tina’s Christmas Snowmen Elements’ sets – the whole ‘Christmas Elements’ set are on offer this week on the ClarityCrafts website.

I based this one on a slightly loose interpretation of the layout at Sketch Saturday, swapping the central circle for my tree, and using the palette from Creative Colour.

I started with a small square of stencil card that I’d mopped up blue ink on from a previous project and stamped the two snowmen into place. I cut masks for them from Clarity;s mask material, then stamped the tree into the centre.

I used an olive Pergaliner pencil to shade in the tree, with blue for the snowmen’s hats and to add shading to their bodies. I added the ground by sponging a little blue ink across a torn piece of copy paper.

I used a square embedder to create a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank, then ran a black Sharpie around the edges of the topper and attached it to the card. I finished by filling in the baubles on the tree with a gold metallic pen (to reflect the ‘wheat’ in Creative Colour’s palette).

So that’s another Christmas card nicely in the bag – stop by tomorrow for another creation to hopefully inspire you.

Love this! I know I’ve mentioned before that I love your ‘mopped’ backgrounds that you keep for additional projects. Such a time saver – I really need to do this!
